Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Fourteenth Station: Jesus is laid in the tomb
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee.
R. Because by Thy holy Cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.
Jesus body now laid in a tomb. Jesus looked defeated. What had been gained? Even His closest friends had had their doubts.
But since His life was the gift He gave, the reverse of all appearances turned out to be true.
Christ continues His work through others, till the Good News reaches the very ends of the earth. He rose from His own death. We are witnesses of this. And all heaven now awaits the glorious revealing of the sons of God!

Our Father.... Hail Mary.... Glory Be to the Father....
V: Jesus Christ Crucified.
R: Have mercy on Us.
V: May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in peace.
All: Amen.
Prayer before crucifix
Look down upon me, good and gently Jesus, while before Thy face I humbly kneel; and with burning soul pray and beseech Thee to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins and a firm purpose of amendment. While with great love and tender pity I contemplate Thy five wounds, pondering over them within me, calling to mind the words which David, Thy prophet, said of Thee, my Jesus: "They have pierced My hands and My feet; they have numbered all My bones."
For the intention of the Pope
